How I handled SuperBowl Sunday

Today was Superbowl Sunday. A day best known for eating wings, drinking lagers, and shouting at the television when everyone else starts shouting because that’s what you’re supposed to do.

I knew today would be tough on both my sobriety, as well as my ability to stay within my allotment of Weight Watchers points BUT I managed to make it all the way to past dinner time without using up all of my daily points or weekly points.

I made a conscious effort to have a protein packed breakfast so that I would be full for a while before the Superbowl snackage started. I had:

1 bagel thin (3)

1 tbsp cream cheese (1)

1 egg, two whites (2)

A bell pepper (0)

2 oz. black forest ham (1)img_1187

I scrambled everything up and it was delicious for only 7 smart points!

For lunch/bowl food I had buffalo wings (7sp)

1 tbsp of Ranch  (1sp)

and a ton of carrots and celery (0sp)

The real challenge for me was going to my favorite bar with some friends after halftime. I packed a ziplock of veggies to snack on, brought a pack of gum to avoid smoking, and while there I just ordered soda water with lemon and a diet pepsi. It was surprisingly easy to stay away from alcohol and cigarettes because I had a plan in place.

I’m excited that I can still enjoy a filling dinner and I don’t need to feel guilty about having a good time today with friends. If you did indulge a little extra today, that’s okay! It’s okay to indulge every once in awhile, as I am learning each day that moderation is key. Tomorrow is my weigh in day and I’m actually feeling pretty good about it.

What were your tricks for dealing with Superbowl Sunday? What about celebrations in general? Comment below and let me know.

Bye Bye Muffin Top!

XOXO, Kenzie
